Yes. This an easy call for me personally, for our band and our music too. Spotify is sort of a blight on the music industry, especially for artists, basically pennies for streams, just not equitable. On the one hand, you think it’s cool to be on a platform that has a global reach, but on the other, you realize you give up control to a app and company that truly devalues music and the artists who create it.

We are pulling all of our music off of Spotify in solidarity with Neil Young, Nils Lofgren, Joni Mitchell and many more.  It feels good to self-de-platform. Why? Spotify has chosen to let Joe Rogan’s podcast spread Covid Vax Disinformation across the planet for $.

 
Disgusting. Un-cool. A poor excuse of a business model, spreading disinformation, ignorance and disease. Bye, bye Spotify!

WWSP PSA – SPACE show Postponed!

Hello All – It is with great disappointment that we must announce the postponement of the January 19th 2022 whitewolfsonicprincess show at Space.

 
We are sad, and the decision was not made lightly. However due to the recent Covid surge we feel it is the best decision for our band and our fans at this time.

As that old song from the band Chicago asks: “Does anyone really know what time it is?” Nah. Not really. Our new motto for this year: “Life, not what you think!”

Mathematics may be the language of the Universe, but, you know, you can’t put a number on the most valuable things in life: Love, Music, Poetry, Dance, Laughter.

This New Year’s Day morning we are listening to “World Spirituality Classics 1: The Ecstatic Music of Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda” (2017) – This record was a major discovery for us in 2021. Just spinning it seems like a spiritual quest. So beautiful, passionate & holy.

We actually ended up purchasing a handful of Alice Coltrane cds in 2021. This one, a late career collection from “rare ashram tapes” is bold, breath-taking, powerful, life-changing & life-affirming. Alice Coltrane was a giant in music and in life. Her art, her dedication to the spirit is a joy and an example. Devotion. Yes. What a great way to start the new year.  The music swells, and washes, and cleanses the soul.  “Shanti… Om… Shanti…” – Jammer

They say “dream big,” “imagine a new reality,” “make no small plans.” That last phrase was one of my father’s favorites. So, yes, the future is uncertain, but we can imagine a new picture, a new frame, conjure up a new dream.

We are working towards our first show of 2022 at Evanston Space. A fabulous music room. We have played there once before, but that night we shared a bill with another local favorite band Ex Maquina! This time it will be WWSP, with a few special guests.

We are spreading our wings a bit. Seeing how high we can fly. We hope you will consider joining us for the journey.

Last night we were back to one our favorite haunts. Sending vibrations into the air, bringing the dance of light and shadow. It was exhilarating to be back indoors at Jarvis Square Pottery. A fabulous night of music and good cheer. We shared the bill, and the stage, with Gunnelpumpers.

All the pandemic shite changed everything for everyone. True, yes, indeed. We went into lockdown and isolation, unplugged, masked up and hoped for better days. We put rehearsing with our band on hold, cancelled r&r shows, laid-low, you know just like everyone else.

Slowly, we have ventured back into the world. Rehearsing with our band at our studio, working up new songs we wrote during lockdown, and brushing up on some of our old standby tunes.

This Saturday we finally get to play indoors at Jarvis Square Pottery a fabulous music room and community meeting-place. We have had some truly extraordinary shows there. This time we share the bill with the always morphing, mind-expanding Gunnelpumpers.

We are all vaxxed and masked. Hope you all will be too. Back to what we love to do. The Lovely Carla tells me “gentle” is the new byword. Gently we go into that good, dark night. – Jammer

WWSP would like to thank Sketchbook Brewing and all our beautiful friends and fans who came out to support us on Sunday (Halloween 2021). It has been so wonderful to be back out playing, we are grateful beyond words for all the love. Yes, it’s true. We love to play… it doesn’t really matter so much where; park, playground, art gallery, sidewalk, alley, big-time rock club, whatever.

We have a fabulous Sunday afternoon (3p.m.- 5pm) show coming up at Sketchbook Brewing Company in Skokie, IL on Halloween, Sunday Oct. 31. 

2 sets from whitewolfsonicprincess, plus, a Las Cocinita food truck, a full menu of beverages, and a magnificent brewery setting for fun and frolic. Conjuring spirits!  No cover. Tips welcome. Hope you can join us!

If the weather is good we will play outside in the Beer Garden, if the weather is bad we will move inside to the brewery! We will not be denied!
