We have been kicking around this idea of doing some Edgar Allan Poe poems as r&r songs. Maybe even do a whole album of material. I do think if EAP were alive today he’d be fronting a band like the Bad Seeds.

We took out “A Dream Within a Dream” for a ride awhile back. I forgot about it, just rediscovered this track yesterday. We recorded it a few months back on a little digital recorder at our rehearsal space. It’s raw & raucous. I think this is the 2nd time we played the song.

We totally swamp Carla’s vocal in the middle of the track, but you know, I do love the energy of this thing. It was quite fun to play. No apologies. That’s Carla on vocals, Jammer on guitar, Chuck Wasserburg on slide guitar, Doug Johnson on bass and Randy Farr on drums. Funky, funky EAP! – Jammer

“Man, you should have seen them kicking Edgar Allen Poe.” – J. Lennon

I got it into my head that Nick Cave should be the next James Bond – 007.  He is a slightly desiccated and debauched gent of the first degree. He is a man of taste and distinction. He’s death-haunted, and love-doomed, and he seems to be locked in a battle with divine forces. And if reincarnation is real, Nick is the re-embodiment, the re-animation of Edgar Allan Poe’s spirit. If Poe lived today he’d surely be writing novels and screenplays, and he’d have a band like the Bad Seeds, and an edgy side-project like Grinderman. And hell, doesn’t he deserve his own cinematic franchise? And speaking of the Bad Seeds, is there a better, doom-laden, torn and discarded love-letter of a record than “No More Shall We Part?”  I think not… – Jammer

This portrait of the Lovely Carla, whitewolfsonicprincess’ lead singer, came out of a working session with the inspiring and gifted photographer Michael Doubrava. We enlisted Michael to take some photos of the band, and this “out-take” emerged from one of those sessions. The strange twinning of  images seems so gothic and spooky. For some reason it makes me think of Edgar Allan Poe and Lenore. Black & White Cool! Thank you Michael! – Jammer
