“I hear Mariachi music in the cemetery…”

Sounds like a stray line from a forgotten Warren Zevon song. We spent part of Mother’s Day 2025 at the cemetery communing with the beloved dead. We weren’t alone. It was a celebration. Folks came out in force with lawn chairs, blankets, coolers. Families, primarily Mexican-Americans; the young, the old, the working middle-aged too.

The Lovely Carla and I we were there. Paying our respects to loved ones, long passed on. Silently meditating. Sitting under our favorite tree. It was a gorgeous, blue-sky day. All was greenery & light. There was a joyous vibe in the air. Yes. A Mariachi band entertained us all. Horns, guitars, violins, drums. They were decked out in black & gold suits, with hats & boots.

The music was sublime. The male voices singing songs that sounded like history. We didn’t know what the songs were about, but the vibe was joy, beauty, & soul. It was surprising. Stunning. A total celebration. The Living & the Dead together. Families. Generations. A long line of human beings in touch with, and honoring, their Ancestors.

It was extraordinary. Beautiful. Set the vibe for the rest of the day. Yes. Magnificent. Real & surreal too. Reminded us of the real America that we love; inclusive, joyous, generous, diverse. So much better than the current soul-less, cruel, mind-numbing, bullshit, Nazi-version. – Jammer

The Lovely Carla Loading into Cary’s Lounge 04.12.25

The thing is to play. Yes. It helps to have a guitar (made in Japan), and a band (made in America) and a songwriting partner (also made in America).

We played in a friendly lounge in the City late yesterday afternoon. A gathering of the cool folks. Funny, we have been doing this kind of thing for years & years. Putting on a show with a collection of unique talents from all directions.

One of my long-gone collaborators would call this kind of thing the good work. Yes. Definitely good for the head, the heart, the soul. Connecting with other folks; mainly thru the music, thru the vibes.

I don’t know what I would do with myself without this long-running creative journey. Probably sink into the mire. It is a mission & an antidote. A good way to vaccinate oneself from the shitshow, and the relentless cascading line of B.S.emanating from new Terror-Dome Regime.

You know, putting on a show. A little thing, everything.- Jammer

This ad campaign running on the streets of London? Absolutely brilliant. An amazing series of ads. Truly creative and provocative and on-the-money. Darkly-hilarious too. It’s from the group Everybody Hates Elon. The good folks in Britain are pretty wised-up on Nazis, and the hard-right, white-supremacy movement. Many still-living humans have vivid memories of bombs raining down on London in World War II. Dark times in the last century.

It’s quite the unbuilding the brand idea. Once Tesla’s brand ambassodor revealed his Nazi-sympathies, the process of unbuilding, dismantling, destroying the brand took hold. What’s great, it’s a serious, non-violent, movement. Using advertising is just so elegant & perfect.

It folds in nicely with the Telsa Takedown movement in the USA. Divest from Telsa stock. Sell or trash your Tesla automobile. It’s funny the Tesla was the darling of wealthy, environmentally-conscious, progressives in America. Then, Musk revealed himself, and declared war on the “woke mind virus.” It turns out that the rich woke-folk were his best customers and investors.

The stock is tanking. The cars are crashing. It became obvious that the stock price and the car company were madly, wildly, super-over-inflated. Sort of a shiny, techy, Ponzi scheme. As someone remarked: “Telsa is no longer a car company, it’s a bank for Fascists.”  Reality is now rearing it’s ugly head.

Musk then multiplied the damage by going after Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security programs here in the States. Something about an over-amped billionaire attacking the social safety net of the common folks just doesn’t sit right.

How does this all end? Who knows?! It is gratifying to watch the stock price tumble. Can’t wait for the next ads to drop. People Power. It is an awesome and inspiring phenomenon. – Jammer
